Luke's a huge creative influence, as well.
But, he moves too fast to get pictures. :-)
Now, where'd he go?

City Wall

An Ebay find.
Not perfect but close.
Cast plaster, painted and "weathered".

Even more mill pond
20/May/2014
Added debris around pond edge, logs and fresh coat of "water".

Forest

Finally got around to making some trees

And some geomorphology for the mining spur.

More Mill Pond
19/May/2014

Log more to scale.

Added plaster to raise the pond.
Then painted the "bottom"

Mill Pond Evolution
14/May/2014

Dug the pond too deep. Resin water.

And the logs are too too big. Not to scale.

Lumber Mill
28/Apr/2014
I think I've pretty much arrived at a plan for the saw mill area.

First attempt.

1st Lower bridge
15/Apr/2014

builidings and Portals
08/Apr/2014
Working in some ebay finds,...
A viaduct wall for the "city"

a house for the rural town?

Some industrial structures.

Got a portal, add a mountain.
I like this foam carving technique. Quick and easy. and doesn't look bad.

A bridge

Mre industry And some help from the boys.

Yard structure?

Yard and 2nd Lower bridge development
08/Apr/2014
Added some seneic material.

Added the lower bridge
I think that "completes" the mountain side construction phase?

Added a switch for the South yard runout
And the lower bridge departure needed some shoring up.

Superchief enters yard via south runout.

Mystery Mine
31/Dec/2013
Some tweaks to the "Run Away Mystery Mine"
Now with some yellowish mystery ore from Ikea.

Lumber mill
23/Dec/2013

Just a try out but, seems like a good fit.
Misc
19/Dec/2013

Back run probably too tall.

Added portal for test fit and look.

Didn't like the "layer cake" (but I may live with it)

Was going to add a second mid-mt route. Approach since abandoned.

Added the "top" layer. Mine loop.

More of the mine loop. Push the cars, then they"run away". Started as an accident, but I kinda like the whimsy of it.
Engineering the mountain route
08/Dec/2013

The loop(s)

The mountain climb and separate toplogging/mining loop.
Roughed in. Need the incline sets.

Major rework to the Station.
Now a through track. Part of the High route.

Logging/Mining loop
30/Nov/2013
Playing with the very top of the mountain.
The escaped cars were an accident, but I think I like the concept. :-)
The over/under will both be tunnels, I think.
Sidewalks & Trees

Urban Module Work
23/Jul/2013
A few pick-ups from eBay
Station
and some "Down Town" buildings. Heavy paint and not quite "Square". (Not that I have any room to critique)
Moved the platform to the back of the station.
Trying different combinations of the buildings. And cleaned up the paint a bit.
I think the station will get a fancy roundabout like DC Union Station.
Another module on module approach for the city buildings.
Sandpaper "roads" - not bad.
The track in front is the dock line.
Saw Pit Store

1st "complete" module
30/Jun/2013
The Rural Station Module
Okay, not museum quality, but more than serviceable.
This is part of an eventual rural station/siding 4 module set.
eBay used station, some left-over ballast, and scenic-ing materials from last N-Scale foray (in the '80s).
Still needs some doodads for the station platform, some people and a couple of cars in the parking lot and road.
And who knows what else?
Station parts
14/Jun/2013
The box of station canopy parts arrived.
Previous owner had weathered two sets of them. Not bad. The rest were clean spares.
Rough fit for ideas, the off to kit-bashing.

Station Canopy?
07/Jun/2013
Train Station
Inspiration,...

A Hornby train shed canopy gets worked in.

It's 00 gauge, but I think we can make it work. Platforms may be too large, may cut lengthwise.
Canopy may cover the yard run (green) track?
(Note; Swapped the double crossover to the right of the 2x switching module. Seems to be a better egress/exit flow. makes the station tracks too short, tho.)
FAIL - Hornby OO canopy much too large. Back to drawingboard.
